1. There shall be no installation or erection of monuments until the plot or grave
has been fully paid for.
2. Memorial dealers must abide by all rules and regulations pertaining to the
erection of monuments and inscribing on existing memorials.
3. All memorials are subject to the approval of Cemetery Management prior to their
erection.
4. Sizes of memorials will vary with the size of the grave or plot. Sizes of
memorials should be requested of the Cemetery Management at the time of
purchasing of the Right of Burial.
5. Every memorial shall be set on a foundation. All foundation work will be done by
the Cemetery Management. The only exception shall be Veteran’s Affairs flat
and bronze markers.
6. Memorials of the following materials: marble, slate, concrete, cast iron, bronze,
bronze lettering and wood are prohibited.
7. Memorials on single and double graves shall consist of not more than two
pieces.
8. Only one memorial shall be permitted on a graveholding. For each Certificate of
the Right of Burial (Deed), there may be only one memorial.
9. A memorial may not be erected on more than one graveholding, which shall be
approved by the Cemetery Management.
10. A cross or a Roman Catholic religious symbol must appear on all memorials
which shall be approved by the Cemetery Management.
11 If a principal (family) name is inscribed, it must agree with the name on the
deed. In all cases, the name on the deed must appear on the memorial, either
as a principal (family) name or in inscription form.
12. Where memorials are placed back to back, the rear of the bases shall be
smooth (not rock pitched).
13. No inscription or ornamentation shall be permitted on the side or top. No
inscriptions on the backs of monuments in the back-to-back section.
14. Footstones are allowed in graves where there is sufficient room.
15. The texts of all inscriptions are subject to approval of the cemetery
superintendent.
16. Painting, gold leaf, or lithochrome accents to letters are prohibited.
17. No memorials or other stonework may be placed on plots having enclosures
unless the enclosure is first removed.
18. Corner markers and corner posts are not permitted.
19. A detailed plan and design of a memorial must be submitted to the Cemetery
Management for approval before a permit will be issued, and no memorial shall
be erected or placed until checked, approved and accepted by the cemetery.
20. The cemetery reserves the right to fix charges for memorial foundations,
memorial placement or removal, inscription permits, and the right to
demand that such charges be paid in advance before said work is completed.
21. The erection or removal of a monument and memorial inscriptions may be
made only upon the presentation of the following:
a. The Certificate of the Right of Burial (Deed), original copy;
b. If the Original Deed is not available, the Certificate of Purchase
(Duplicate Deed);
c. In place of the Original Deed or Duplicate Deed, an affidavit duly
executed by the original purchaser or, if the original purchaser is
deceased, by his or her heirs at law.
d. In the case of the removal of a monument, in addition to the Original
Deed or Duplicate Deed, a properly executed affidavit signed by the
recorded owner or, in the event he is deceased, by the heirs at law of the
recorded owner.
